Independent Verification That Materials Meet Specification

Specifications are only as good as the testing that enforces them. Cigeotech provides quality control and materials testing for earthworks, concrete, pavement and aggregate supply — in our Kaduna laboratory and on your site.

  • Results As Measured, Not As Hoped For

We work both as an independent testing consultant to clients and supervising engineers, and as the QC arm on contractor-delivered projects. Non-conforming results are flagged immediately rather than at the end of a reporting cycle, so remedial action is still possible.

Testing & Quality Control

Soils, Concrete, Aggregates & Asphalt

Every result is traceable to a sample, a location and a date — chainage for road works, pour and element reference for structures, delivery ticket for supplied materials. Field density results are reported same day on site.

Soil & Earthworks Testing

Moisture content and Atterberg limits, particle size distribution, Standard and Modified Proctor compaction, CBR soaked and unsoaked, field density by sand replacement and core cutter, and DCP subgrade assessment.

Concrete Testing

Slump and workability at the point of placement, cube and cylinder casting, curing and crushing at 7, 14 and 28 days, mix design and trial mixes, rebound hammer testing and core extraction.

Aggregate & Asphalt Testing

Aggregate Crushing and Impact Values, Los Angeles abrasion, flakiness index, specific gravity, water absorption, silt content, bitumen content, Marshall stability and asphalt core density.

Typical Test Schedule

  • Field density & compaction control
  • California Bearing Ratio (CBR) for pavement design
  • Concrete cube crushing at 7, 14 and 28 days
  • Aggregate grading, ACV and AIV testing
  • Bitumen content and Marshall stability

Reporting & Turnaround

  • Field density and compaction results — same day
  • Soil classification and CBR — 3 to 7 working days
  • Concrete cube results — at scheduled test ages
  • Consolidated QC report — weekly or monthly
  • Immediate notification of non-conforming results
